Essen Motor Show 2012, 30/11 to 8/12

December. Usually a time of dreary weather and 24/7 Christmas; not a inspiring time for the average petrolhead. But, as any hardcore show watcher knows, December means the Essen Motor Show. Now in the 46th year and as always held at the Messe Essen in Germany. Always a varied show, classic cars, hot rods, and motorsport racers mingle with bikes and tuning company demonstrators. No wonder it last 9 days; you need that to take it all in.
This year, it included a special exhibit paying tribute to the World Sports Car Championship (a format which returns in 2013 with the FIA World Endurance Championship), a selection of victorious vehicles in the great races from 1953 to 1992 were on display.
